Rutabaga, Purple Top

Brassica napus.

Just a regular ol baggy root!  The roots for seedmaking for this variety came to us from a neighbor farmer, incorrectly named Gilfeather.  This was purple top and yellow fleshed instead of green top and white fleshed.  Vigorous plants make great roots every year for us to put away for winter soups, roasts and mashed potato-bagas.
