Butterhead - North Pole OG

Lactus sativa. 

An heirloom passed to us from Tom Jerde of Westby, WI. Sow in April for Spring harvest and late Aug for Fall. Lovely small 8” butter-heads with lime-green leaves that survive many a frosts. May overwinter in a cold frame.  Love the soft albeit crunchy smooth leaves.  The salad dressing clings to the leaf.  So good.
