Shallot, Ronningers Gold

These shallots have gold skin with great flavor.   I was given these shallots a while back from Frank Kutka.  They perform from FALL and SPRING.  Order Jan-March and expect a delivery for spring Planting in Mar/Apr.  Order  Apr-Oct. and expect to plant in the Fall. 

For Spring planted, sow a clove 1-2" deep giving 8-12" spacing in all directions.  Plant into fertile soil 4-6 weeks before last frost, keep weeded. Expect a late summer harvest.

For Fall planted, sow a clove 1-2" deep giving 8-12" spacing in all directions.  Bury and mulch before groundfreeze. Overwintered ones do tend to bolt.  Simply knock the flowers off like garlic for larger bulbs.
