Shallot, French Grey
These shallots have pink/grey color with great flavor and torpedo shape. I was given these shallots a while back from a farmer worker friend. I don't believe these are the true "Griselle", but carry the French Grey name. They perform from FALL and SPRING, though Spring aren't always as big. Order Jan-March and expect a delivery for spring Planting in Mar/Apr. Order Apr-Oct. and expect to plant in the Fall.
For Spring planted, sow a clove 1-2" deep giving 8-12" spacing in all directions. Plant into fertile soil 4-6 weeks before last frost, keep weeded. Expect a late summer harvest.
For Fall planted, sow a clove 1-2" deep giving 8-12" spacing in all directions. Bury and mulch before groundfreeze.
